Income-based, sliding scale 

Sliding scale reduced fees are limited, with priority given to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color/LGBTQ+ communities and folx with disabilities. We’re happy to offer some referrals for lower fee therapy should you need. There are also some resources located on the resource page.

FAQ

  • We do not take any insurance directly.

    We are not in-network with any insurance companies; however, depending on your plan, your insurance may offer partial reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider. If so you would pay out-of-pocket for your therapy sessions and we can provide you with a super bill to send to your insurance.

    Some things to ask your insurance company: do they cover outpatient mental health services with out of network Marriage and Family Therapist? If so, what is the percentage? Does your deductible impact reimbursement? Is there a limit on how many sessions per year you will be reimbursed for? Does it cover both licensed Marriage and Family Therapists as well as Associates? Does it cover the kind of therapy you are coming in for (individual, couples and/or family therapy)? Do you need prior authorization?

  • Please check with your HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Federal Savings Account) to see if psychotherapy is a covered benefit and if anything else is needed for you to be able to use your HSA or FSA card to cover therapy costs.

  • Due to fluctuating covid factors, we are only meeting virtually at this time. In the near future, we will likely be offering both in-person sessions on both the east and west sides of Los Angeles, as well as teletherapy. Please note we can only provide psychotherapy via telehealth for people living in the state of California.

  • Sessions are typically conducted on a weekly basis. Some people come twice a week when they are really focused on prioritizing and developing their mental and emotional health and/or a building consistent structure for themselves. I find that when therapy sessions happen less than once a week, therapy is not as effective because we don’t get to hear from you frequently enough to be able to truly help or understand you or build enough authentic rapport to create safety in the relationship. Without feeling a sense of safety with your therapist it sometimes keeps us from doing the deeper (sometimes more difficult) work we are seeking therapy for.
